In this Jubilee Year of Mercy, the Franciscan Handmaids of the Most Pure Heart of Mary will celebrate their one hundred years of service in the community with a gala on a grand scale on March 29, 2016 in New York.
New Yorkers are asked to perform a daily random act of kindness no matter how big or small. Our campaign, #100DaysofKindness, embodies the spirit of Ephesians 4:32, “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
The gala will feature His Eminence Timothy Michael Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop of New York. The Centennial Award will be presented by Susan L. Taylor, Founder and CEO of National Cares Mentoring Movement, and editor-in-chief emerita of Essence Magazine.
There will also be performances by Tony & four-time Grammy Award-Winner Melba Moore, Broadway actress & singer Carmen Ruby Floyd and special celebrity guests.
